OPERATING PRINCIPLE:
The RF Level switch operates on the basis of RF absorption. The electronic unit generates a sinusoidal wave, applied to the electrode creating a field around it. RF environment absorption changes (Electrical Loss) around the electrode are reflected on the changes of generator supply current. Such changes caused by increase in level is amplified and used to actuate the relay. Special Coat-guard amplifier is incorporated in the circuit, which will ignore the effect of deposition.
The RF Admittance type, point level switch, designed with special sensing probe, using special shield coat-guard circuit and three element probe. The level switch is immune to the material built-up on the probe and material bridging between the probe and hopper wall.
COAT GUARD CIRCUIT:
Normal capacitance type switches may not perform if the process material builds up on the probe. The coat guard circuit is added to overcome this problem. In this circuit, additional coat guard electrode is added which is insulated from sense as well as ground electrode. The coat guard electrode is driven with the same potential and phase as sense. When there is coating on electrode, no current flows between sense and ground. When the level of the material in silo or hopper rises and covers sense electrode the switch operates.

The TILT probe is to be hanged from the top in the hopper or supported on the walls of hopper at required locations. When material level rises, makes a cone in the hopper. SMARTsaa is leading manufacturer and exporter of RF Admittance type Blocked Chute Detector for sensing the blocked chute condition of hopper. It senses blocked chute condition of the hopper due to clogging at the discharge points. Switch is used for sensing blocked Chute condition of iron ore, cement, lime, food stuff, milk powder, flour, salt & plastic granules.
Mounting of Blocked Chute Detector: The Blocked Chute Detector is to be mounted in the hopper with the help of flange. The heavy duty rugged design makes it ideal for sensing material clogging. The disc probe is fabricated out of SS material and provided with UHDMWPE / Teflon insulation. The heavy duty SS probe withstands the abrasion of material & provides effective sensing. It is Switch is designed with special coat guard circuit, which will ignore effects of deposition on the probe.
Control Circuit can be integral with sensor probe or it can be mounted remotely if temperature at the product is higher than 100 degree cent.
This Blocked Chute Switch is suitable for highly dusty environment. It is also simple to install.
When the electronic circuit is integral with probe, control circuit is housed in cast Al, IP 65 enclosure fitted on the sensor itself. The control circuit can also be mounted at remote if the process temp is more than 100 degree cent. Control supply can be 230 V AC; 50 Hz (standard). Other voltages like 110 V AC, 24 V DC are available on request.
The output is in the form of 2 C/O potential free relay contact. 5 Amp Resistive at 230v AC.
Switch has facility of built in ON and OFF nuisance delays of 2 to 20 sec. The switch can be programmed at site for top or bottom level monitoring with the help of selector switch.
