Sensing face diameter decides the sensing range of switch. For higher sensing range, the diameter of sensing face is more. The object size should be at least equal to the diameter of the sensing face of the switch and object material should be mild steel or cast steel.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF CAPACITIVE PROXIMITY SWITCH:

The sensor works on the principle of change in dielectric constant of different media. The change in capacitance in empty state and filled state is detected by sensor and output signal is produced.

The Capacitance Proximity Sensor is to be fitted in a tank or hopper at a point where level is to be sensed.

Various sizes of switches are available. M 18 & M 30 sensors are most common. These switches works on 24 V DC and offers PNP or NPN O/P.
